Sway Eats: Iced Matcha Latte (抹茶ラテ)

If you’re looking to cool down from the warmer weather, try out our quick, easy and refreshing iced matcha latte (抹茶ラテ) recipe.  For a deep, authentic taste we recommend using a traditional Japanese matcha bowl and chasen (matcha whisk), but feel free to use any regular utensils you have at home.

  1. Put 2-3 teaspoons of matcha powder in a matcha bowl and add the same amount of hot water
  2. Whisk it, until the matcha powder is well-mixed with the hot water – add more water for a more subtle flavour, and transfer this to a fridge for around 15 minutes for an extra-cool latte
  3. Fill your glass with ice, then your milk of choice until it’s about ¾ full
  4. Finally, pour in the matcha and sweeten to taste with syrup or honey.
